One of the fun things about watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie is looking out for the cameo appearance by the portly director himself. You never know when he might step off a bus, pass by while walking his dogs, or wash ashore as a dead body.
But Hitchcock wasn't the only director who made a point of appearing in his own movies. Most of the so-called "film experts" seem to be too blind to notice that the great Charlie Chaplin made a cameo in just about every movie he made. Not old Johnny BooBoo, though. I may not have the "qualifications" of a Siskel or an Eberg, but I know how to press play on a DVD player, which is better than most people these days.
